After our visit to Flempton, we travelled on to Great Livermere. This church is famous for its wooden belfry - a later addition to the tower, a medieval wall painting opposite the main door and its 3-level pulpit. Great Livermere is about 6 miles north of Bury St Edmunds in Suffolk. The church is down Church Lane and it was easy to park outside in the lane. The church was not locked.

Weather was still bright sunshine and about 10 degrees C. when we visited on Wednesday Feb 18th 2015 - an ideal day weatherwise.
